Cmd. Sgt. Maj. Rodney C. Russell was selected to serve as the 5th Command Sergeant Major of the South Atlantic Division, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on December 2nd, 2022. Cmd. Sgt. Maj. Russell was born in Columbia, SC and graduated from Richland Northeast High School in 1992. He enlisted in the Army in June of 1995 and attended One Station Unit Training with C 169th Engineer Battalion at Fort Leonard Wood, MO as a 12B Combat Engineer.

Cmd. Sgt. Maj. Russell’s Civilian Education includes an Associates Degree in Liberal Arts, and he is currently pursuing his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Environmental Science.
