Jacksonville, Fla. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District in a collaborative effort with the PortMiami, Miami-Dade County, announced today the contract for the Miami Harbor Deepening project has been awarded to Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Company, LLC in the total contract amount (Base plus Option A and Option B) of $205,797,456.00 with total awarded and obligated amount (Base) of $122,198,956.  

The Base phase of the project includes deepening existing Federal navigation channels in Cuts 1 and 2 (primarily from 44 feet to 52 feet deep) and widening the outer most portion of Cut 1. In addition to channel deepening, coral relocation, creation of artificial reef, and seagrass mitigation sites will be constructed in this phase.  

Construction duration is expected to be 757 days.
